Open Door Haiti’s Christmas Hope Box Outreach brings the love of God to the children at our churches, schools and orphanage, tangibly sharing with them the hope and joy that are found in Christ at Christmas. As churches and individuals from across the US and Canada fill their Hope Boxes, they can know that their gifts are a significant part of our efforts to transform Haiti… one child’s life at a time!
How To Put Hope In A Box This Christmas
CHOOSE A BOX … Children prefer to receive their gifts in a reusable small - shoebox sized plastic container (5.2 qt size), but a small cardboard box (approximately 7in. wide, 12in. long, 5in. deep) will do as well. Wrapping is not required. Secure your Hope Box with a large rubber band or tape.
CHOOSE: BOY OR GIRL … Determine whether your gift will be for a boy or a girl, and the child’s grade level: Clearly mark the top of your Hope Box either “B” for Boy or “G” for Girl and then PK or 1-3 or 4-7. If you are giving to a specific sponsor child at ODH, write their name and grade clearly on your Hope Box.
CHOOSE GIFTS TO BRING HOPE … Fill your Hope Box with gifts that will bring joy and hope to a child this Christmas. (see suggestions below)
HELP US SEND HOPE … Whether you prepare a Hope Box or not, please consider helping us with the shipping cost with a donation of $10 or more for EACH Hope Box you prepare. You can write a check to Open Door Haiti (memo: Hope Box) and send to the P.O. Box below or you can give by Credit Card by clicking the “support this cause” picture below. If you have more than one Hope Box, please make one combined donation.

If you are mailing your Hope Boxes, you can also ship to the address below. Please make sure that your boxes arrive no later than the first Sunday in December. Thank You!

SCHOOL SUPPLIES – pens, pencils, pencil sharpener, erasers, crayons, washable markers, stickers, writing pads, calculators, coloring books, paint sets…
HYGIENE ITEMS – toothbrush, toothpaste,bar of soap (in a plastic bag), comb, washcloth, tissues, nail file and clippers…
CLOTHES & MORE – shirts, skirts, shorts, socks, ball cap, hair clips, ribbons, sandals, sunglasses, plastic jewelry, watches, compact umbrella…
TREATS – Lollipops, assorted candies (please double bag all candy, NO chocolate), gum, granola bars, fruit snacks, snack-sized crackers or cookies (pre-packaged ONLY please)
A MESSAGE OF HOPE – In a separate envelope, you may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself or your family. Our staff in Haiti will translate the message for you, or you can use Google Translate to share your message in Creole. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your sponsor child’s name as the return address to receive a note back.
